Newport Beach is famous for  the beautiful waterfront, exquisite shopping and dining, and the rough unpredictable waters of The Wedge. While this area is known for its extravagant homes and beautiful landscaping, its true beauty lies in the beach and waterways.  There are many different communities in this area, all on or near the water.

The Communities of Newport

Central communities include; Big Canyon, East Bluff, Harbor View, Newport Shores, Dover Shores, Bay Shores, Lido Village, Promitory Point, and Harbor Ridge.

Coastal Newport Bay communities includes; Balboa Peninsula, Newport Heights and Lido Island. Newport Beach Island Communities includes; Balboa Island, Bay Island, Collins Island, Harbor Island, Linda Isle and Newport Island. Coastal Newport Beach Communities includes; Corona del Mar and Newport Coast.

Finally, there are the inland communities including; San Juaquin Hills and Santa Ana Heights.

Highlights of Newport Beach

There are 10 pristine miles of coastline for surfing, swimming, sunbathing and other water sports. During the holidays, there is a famous boat parade and competition through the gorgeously decorated Canals, culminating into an exciting aerial firework display on the final evening.

Among the many exceptional restaurants in the area, several are accessible by boat, including; Bluewater Grill, The Winery Restaurant and Wine Bar, and of course Joe’s Crab Shack!

• In August 1906 the city became incorporated.
• Many famous people choose Newport Beach to call home. To name a few John Wayne & Kobe Bryant.
Newport Beach was named “one of the cleanest beaches” by Heal the Bay and National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in 2013, and by USA Today and CNN in 2012.
• Newport Harbor appears in multiple Hollywood classic films including ‘Cleopatra’ (1917), ‘Sands of Iwo Jima’ (1949), and inspired the fairytale setting in “Pirate’s Cove” in Walt Disney’s ‘Peter Pan.’
