Mom's Easy Homemade Sunday Sauce!
- 1 Small Onion- chopped
- 1/4 Cup Chopped Fresh Basil
- 2- 12 oz Cans of Whole San Marzano Tomatoes
- 2 Tbsps Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper to Taste

- Heat a saucepan and add the chopped onion.
- Cook for about 5-10 minutes until softened then add the chopped basil and saute for a few more minutes.
- While the onion is cooking crush the tomatoes in a strainer removing the pulp (or you can cheat and use 2 cans of crushed tomatoes, but the sauce can be a little thicker this way).
- Add the strained tomatoes to the onion and basil. Bring to a boil and drop the heat to low. Cover and continue to simmer on a low heat for about 30-45 minutes.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
So simple right?!?
